  1. Michelle

I just rewatched this episode and after going on the Intervention page, I found that Michelle recently commented on a Intervention facebook post and looks amazing! She speaks about finding hope in God, and how she has been clean since the intervention, even if she was fighting it the whole time. She has two children, it looks like, and seems to be happy and healthy. So happy for you Michelle! You were/are beautiful, and not many can say they beat this horrible disease, but you did! Keep on keepin’ on girl.

    1. Dizzy

Awesome. Can you link to that post?

  2. Marissa Robyn

Hey that reminds me I found it too the other day. I’m going to bed I will try to find it and link it tomorrow Dizzy if the other poster doesn’t get to it first. Seems like she’s happy and married. 🙂

  3. Sara

I linked Michelle’s facebook to my name. She has commented on a few posts by the show. She also replied to a few comments, one of them mine. Her story was just unforgettable to me. She got dealt such a crummy hand in life, but she has surely survived, and more than that, thrived. On a superficial note, she looks absolutely gorgeous.

    1. Dizzy

Thanks Sara. She does look great.

  4. Michelle

I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to link Facebook pages, so I apologize for not adding that in with the update. I love finding out these people are doing good…way better then the alternative.

  5. Mandy Nolan

I reached out to Michelle through MySpace after her episode aired over 10 years ago. Her response was so sweet and endearing. This woman only deserves the best life has to offer. All these years later, I’m still in your fan club Michelle!!! ❤

  6. Yvette Wardell

She’s married has 2 boys & wants to foster. She is full of Faith! She is so beautiful inside & out.

Are you still clean in 2017

  8. Beth

Looks like she had a baby girl December 2017.

  9. Katie

I just watched this episode and wanted to see how Michelle was doing. I looked at her Facebook page (Michelle Swafford) & WOW she looks amazing & healthy… & seems to be doing amazing too! She’s been married since 2007 & has 3 kids. Biggest transformation I’ve seen!

  10. Nivey

Found her on IG! @sober_shelly is the username. Looks like she had a baby girl!! So amazing to see her recovery after watching her episode. I wasn’t sure she could beat it. But she did and looks amazing and her family is beautiful! Bless her.

  11. Kelly

I loved Michelle, I’m so happy to see her thriving with her family now! The way she didn’t even have to hear the consequences because you could tell she was done being an addict. Her backstory was just so tragic and unfair. She was just a little kid and clearly remained one because of what happened to her. Her friend Cole was a real one for not giving up on her. Also the grandpa, stuff had me in tears. I’m so happy to see she was able to keep to her sobriety and find a better life.

  12. Kritiker

I just rewatched this episode and checked her facebook. She looks good. But honestly, speaking about god on one hand and letting your children play with rifles on the other hand. That only happens in America. Very sad.

  13. Kaylee

According to her Facebook she just celebrated 17 years sober in September!
You’re a rockstar Michelle not everyone is able to do what you have done.

It’s been years since I have seen Michelle. We used to be neighbors when we were kids. In fact, my dad is in one of the family videos on the show. I knew her dad as Uncle Chris. Have not seen them since he passed away. Michelle, if you happen to see this, we still talk about you guys and think of you often. I’m glad to see your doing well. Tell Chris Jr hello from me.
