She began hanging out with a rebellious crowd, skipping school, and using crack. Nikki eventually had two daughters, but has remained addicted to drugs. Her daughters desperately want to have a relationship with Nikki, and know that an intervention is their only hope of saving their mother’s life.

It is sad how drugs ruin the lives of people, I hope Niki gets better and re-uinites with her Kids.

This is one of the most moving episodes for me. Nikki is such a lovely but broken and sad person, it broke my heart to see her in so much pain. Even when there were no tears streaming down her face, it seemed as if there were as her sadness was so prevalent.

I hope that she has found peace within herself. She deserves it and so does her beautiful family. The intelligence and beauty of her daughters speaks volumes about the strength and love in this family and they all deserve better.

  3. Savannah

My brother is friends with Nikki’s daughter Imani, and he met Nikki a while back, before any of us (in our family) saw this episode.

Nikki seems like such a sweet and loving person, I really hope that she’s been able to develop her love for herself and find peace in recovery. I’m hoping for the best for her and her family, who love her so much.

I’m so suprised that there are only a few episodes that feature the abuse of methodone and benzos mixed together. In my home town (baltimore md) this is just as common as heroin abuse as its supposed to have the same effects. It just always seems to be a topic that is over looked but then again I’m also curious to know if this is as common in other places.

    1. Alice Schmid

I was actually surprised blood pressure meds are also addictive!

  5. Sharnita

I watched this show last night on Lifetime. I sure wish I knew how she was doing now. I pray that God gives her the strength to get clean and stay clean.

Sadly, Nikki passed May 29, 2022.

      1. Chantay

        2021 not 2022, sorry.

  6. Sheryl

This episode really touched me because I could feel the love that is very prevalent in this family. I pray for you Nikki and your entire family.

  7. jacinda godwin

i really would like to know how she is doing… i hate drugs

  8. Laura

Has anyone an update on nikki? I really hope she got off drugs, my heart aches for her addiction

    1. David

Sadly, Nikki recently passed away. I attended her funeral. She was a lovely person who cleaned her life up and turned herself over to Christ.

  9. Honey

To be honest I found this episode quite surprising, she was so so sad and heartbroken, and it all stemmed from her mom giving her tough love. kind of proves you really never know how much things can effect people. I appreciate her mom for been honest about been cold though, most are in denial about how their behaviour effects their children. I really hope she can find self happiness and peace

    1. Michelle

When her mom was asking her what she can do,.. I was screaming, APOLOGIZE!?!? , may have saved her a few relapses. And Joe sucks..

  10. Tori

I feel like the very few black addicts don’t get the same following. Does anyone have any updates on her?

  11. Sonja

I don’t know if she is clean or anything, but I found the FB profiles of her and her family members. From what I can tell they are still in touch and seem to be on fairly good terms? (Hard to know for sure of course since there is little public information) this episode made me a cry a lot… I wish them the best

    1. Stefan

Can you check on their profiles for confirmation that Nikki indeed passed away?

  12. David

Nikki was a beautiful soul who touched many lives. Through her challenges, she was able to reunite with her children and foster a loving relationship with them. Unfortunately, Nikki recently passed away; I attended her funeral just yesterday. Thankfully, she turned her life over to Christ, and she now sleeps in His bosom. Please remember her family in your thoughts and prayers.

    1. Jacinda Godwin

thank you so much for the update.. will be praying for her family.. nothing like a mothers love

  13. Gigi

RIP Nikki. My heart goes out to her entire family, especially her beautiful daughters 🙏

  14. Linda

This episode is so heartbreaking. What a beautiful young woman and two beautiful children. I can’t tell exactly what went wrong. Her mother seems like a really good mother. However, it sounds like she wasn’t affectionate to her daughter. I understand the devastation of losing someone you care so much about. It really can push people over the edge. God bless you Nikki. Your story touched me heart. You are beautiful and I prayed you were able to get sober. ♥️

  15. Gretchen

I hope Nikki knew how much support she had from strangers rooting for her. I hope her children are okay. May she rest in peace.

  16. Kara Bishop

I am so glad that Nikki was able to find sobriety And Christ and to have that loving relationship with her daughters that they longed for! And all those she passed away and way too young she is no in peace and heaven… My prayers and thoughts are with her family, especially her true intelligent, strong, and beautiful daughters!

    1. Kara Bishop

Sorry I hate grammatical errors… Should say

And although she passed away way too young, She is now at peace and in heaven… my thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her two intelligent, strong, and beautiful daughters! ❤️🙏🏼

  18. Ingrid

  19. MF

I feel like I watched a completely different episode. I didn’t feel sympathy for Nikki. Besides the death of her grandmother, there seems to not be any trigger. I applaud her mother for doing everything that would steer her in the right direction and to give her a better life. Nikki seemed to simply choose drugs over her small infant children, point blank she abandoned them and felt her mother would be the one to pick up the pieces.
