It’s always shocking to find out one of the addicts profiled has died, usually as a result of their addiction. It shouldn’t be so shocking given that they were in such bad shape that their families felt like the would die without a televised intervention, but still, it is. Maybe it’s because we come to feel like we know them over an hour (I know that’s not possible, but it still feels that way) and we have hope that there will be a happy ending to their story, not a tragic one.
My sincere condolences to the families and friends of the people who have passed on since their intervention. Please know that there are many people out here that became emotionally invested in your story and are deeply sympathetic to the pain that addiction has caused in your lives. We are terribly sorry for your loss.

For our birthdays to Christmas, we stuck together. She is an amazing woman. She is loved by all, my mother even found her so sweet that she said she “just had to” get her something for Christmas because she found her to be such a great support to not only me but the rest of the women in the house. I’ll never forget Christmas Day when we spend the day walking around Vancouver with my family. Samantha is a completely different person from what you see in her video. Not only is she unrecognizable, so I find her beautiful, no matter how she looks, she is an absolutely stunning, beautiful girl, both inside and out when she finds the desire and drive to be clean.

I’m literally wearing the silk purple robe that you gave me when you left. It’s tattered and torn, but I’ll never throw it out – I promise you I’ll keep it until it’s just a rag (I wear it all the time, and every time I worry, I think about you.)
I think I miss you more than everyone. When I saw that you were missing in danger Kamloops I had a pit in my stomach that would not go away. I know how much you love your daughters, and I understand the effective drugs. We really did understand each other, no judgment, no filters.
You really are a Spitfire and an angel. The one girl I could always go to who would tell me the absolute truth whether I like it or not.
I know it’s a .01% chance you or anyone else use this, Samantha, but just in case, please please look me up on Instagram. I so desperately need to catch up with you and see how you’re doing. I have plans to come back to BC in the works – just need to finish some diagnostic stuff……….. even if treatment is in the cards for you, as it may not be for me, I know that you and I have a hell of a good chance at doing this together. I found this video of Bill Jericho who was featured on Alana’s episode and in the Heroin Hub series. Sadly he passed away in 2023 after finding sobriety and moving to CA where he was working in recovery helping others. Such a tragic loss and saddens me deeply. Tyler was featured working at his dad’s company Valley Pump and had lost his sister and step brother in a month prior to his intervention.

I’m extremely terrified, disturbed, & upset by the comment from 2016 by “Broken” explaining why everything is hopeless and nothing is worth anything. I’m confused as to what made you write “pandemics–fake ones, at that” in 2016. I thought I had a relationship with God. Were you given special foresight into the events of 2020 and COVID? Can you say why you called it fake? I cry about things like this daily. You see, in 2020, the closest person in the world to me, my twin sister, got COVID, developed long covid, then suffered a cardiac arrest and arterial dissection in her brainstem. She is now disabled for life. This happened before any of the shots were out. I had covid myself in 2022 (after 3 Pfizer jabs that I regret and live in terror of dying from every second of every day) & I never ever felt anything like that in my entire life before. I’ve never been as sick in my life as I was when I had covid. Broken, can you please please please tell me what made you refer to “fake pandemics” 5 years before covid started. I know when you make reference to how all thr addicts who get clean will die anyway, you were referring to that because of the covid jabs, right? How did you get this special foreknowledge? Why would God give me direct experience with myself and my loved ones having covid if it is fake? This is truly devastating to me because I lost the best friends I ever had in my whole entire life when my sister got covid because they refused to believe it was real. I was caring for my late mother alone at this time and it broke me, I developed an addiction to benzos and synthetic opioids, which I quit in 2021. First of all, Broken’s comment is ridiculous, IMO.
Secondly, there were plenty of other Pandemics around the world in the past and way before 2020/Covid.
Thirdly, you do have people that don’t believe in Pandemics and think it’s a government thing. You can’t reason with some people.
I’m sorry for what happened to your sister. I had gotten Covid last year and I can tell you that I was at death’s door with it. It affected people in different ways which made it even more scarier. At least for me it did.
