Season 7, Episode 11
Kristine
Age: 36
Location: Davis County, Utah
Addiction: Alcohol (vodka)
What’s Memorable: How her parents actually blamed her for their divorce. The hiding of the bottles all over the house. The sad relationship with her husband. How little she seems to care about whether she lives or dies.
Official synopsis: Although she has a blood clot in her brain that makes drinking dangerous, Kristine is an alcoholic. But she doesn’t believe her condition is a reason to quit because she recently learned that she may have leukemia. Now she figures she may as well keep drinking because the leukemia might kill her anyway. Can an intervention save her–and if she does have a terminal illness, is a successful intervention even an answer?
Original Air Date: February 2010
Interventionist: Jeff
Just watch a Dr. Phil episode with Kristine. After being in a coma and expected to die, she recovered. She is now drinking hand sanitizer! Wow. She agreed to go to treatment. Good luck to her

Dizzy I’m wondering if Dr. PHIL has had any updates on her yet after rehab
Hi Dizzy, I was also wondering if Kristine got out of rehab with the help of Dr.Phil?. I want you to know Dizzy how much I appreciate your hard and dedicated work on this website. I have been sober close to 2 1/2 yrs. this site helped me get closer to see that I WAS at me bottom. Words cannot tell you enough how thankful I am. I pray for you Dizzy. Love is being sent your way.

Haven’t found any updates on Kristine from the dr phil show yet but still looking he is usually really good about updating guests that he has sent to rehab unless they didn’t stay. Maybe she didn’t
After seeing Kristine on Intervention &Dr Phil, I would love to know how she’s doing. Seemed like a nice family
I don’t think Kristine will ever get sober. She’s been drinking so long and has gone to rehab so many times. Like she knows she has a problem but at the same time I don’t think she wants to change. Oh well I still wish her and her family the best.
No updates not good news. That’s for sure
Any one know how she is doing? I really identify with this episode
She is still on the alcohol roller coaster. At times it seemed like she would finally finally fight for herself and break away from this awful addiction, just to get pulled right back in. It is really sad because this affects her whole family as well. She is such a sweet, caring, and truly giving person who is just full of life and love for people. To have watched the path this addiction has led her down breaks our hearts.
any news? She made me kind of angry, and I don’t like saying that because I know there’s pain there. She’s on a par with Jennifer from Arizona with the crazy mom.
Kristine pissed me off too! She acted as if it’s all a joke and laughed pretty much through the whole show. Her daughter crying on the floor yelling “I want daddy” after he left the house. Yet, Kristine couldn’t be bothered to console her and ignored her as if she’s not even there. She was too busy drinking which takes priority over anything or anyone else.
She was that way on her Dr. Phil appearance too. If she doesn’t care, that’s her business, I guess. But she can’t have the booze and her daughter. One has to go, and if it’s the daughter, that’s causing WAY more irreparable damage than giving up the booze will.
I used to help patients like this and one would love hand sanitizer. It was quite sad.
Found an update! She looks great and has been sober almost five years!

Yay! I’m so happy to here that. She seems so much happier sober.
Ahhh. For some reason I just get the feeling that she hasn’t been sober for 5 years. I hope I’m wrong.
She is very manipulative, and selfish. I feel so bad that the mom pays no attention to the other kids/grandchildren cos Christine takes up all her time and attention
Any update on her? I really hoped she would get well then I saw the link to the Dr Phil show. Any updates at all?
I was wondering the same thing. I’m worried she hadn’t actually been sober as long as she says but crossing my fingers I’m wrong! Hopefully she is and doing well with the blood clot and cirrhosis.
Wow! I was surprised by these comments not having more compassion for her. The first thing both her parents described her as was a financial burden and exhausting as a BABY!! I couldn’t imagine that being the first thing my parents describing me as. I felt really sorry for her in her upbringing with parents like that
I noticed that too! In basically the opening the dad says he never wanted her and the mom says she wanted to medicate her so she wouldn’t cry.
