    Dear Jeanna,
I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. You seem like a kind soul. I wish you the best. You didn’t deserve your incredible loss. Please hang in there.

Poor woman. Here’s a girl who got dealt a very poor hand by having neglectful and unfit parents. Yet, she protects her siblings to shield them from the abuse. Although she made mistakes, she chose a clean path after she had her child but had the misfortune of choosing the wrong husband.

I sincerely hope the best for her because she did a lot better than most people in similar situation.

    She truly deserves the world.

  4. Angela

Jeanna, I hope you are still well. Your story was the most tragic and emotionally heart wrenching I have watched. You are a wonderful person & I hope you are now truly content. All the best to you and your family.

  5. Laurie

I’m watching Jeanna’s episode right now, which led me to Google looking for an update. It looks like little sister Mika, mom Shannon and grandma Leslie are doing well: http://www.uniondemocrat.com/newsroomstafflist/5359656-151/woman-granddaughter-graduate-together

    1. Kara Bishop

According to jeanna’s ex-husband’s comment in August of 2021, her dad is going back to prison, and her mom, Shannon invites Jeanna over to use meth saying to her “ it will help”. So very sad I was really thinking this family had a chance… they all still do… Recovery is always just one step away!

    1. Xlio

So horrific.. Kind of odd the episode never made any mention about her other two kids.

      1. Tracee

She didn’t have any other kids. Those were her moms kids, her brother & sister Mika.

  8. Nik

I found Mika on FB, it doesn’t look like she has a relationship with her sister – that or they are just really not close at all. She has had another baby, and I didn’t see Jeanna anywhere.

  9. Brittany

Her current Facebook is “Jean Tyke Matson”. You can’t tell much from her fb though.

  10. Bee

She has a youtube page! She says she has a family now and is working a job

She was fired and is deep in her addiction prayers she lost her family. She has chosen to only focus on meth. 8 years together and now 2 years after her relapse I had to leave her regardless how Much I love her as partner or friend. She was fired for theft, recently safeway shoplifting. I tried to help her knowing our boundries when got together. When she came honest about her relapse it was over year and half so now she is only focused on the drug. She seems to use her body as way to feel loved. Drugs and sex go together. I pray for her. She was my best friend and partner

oh wow.. this is the comment i was dreading to read.. i’m currently watching her epi right now and it’s @ the actual intervention part and i’m close to tears. i prayed when i saw it aired in 2011, that she at least wasn’t dead and once i saw she wasn’t, i prayed that she was clean and doing well. just to scroll through the years in the comments to find the 2021 comment coming directly from her ex .. such sad news, it’s december now, hopefully things have changed since august? my prayers to her and her whole family, such a tragic story.. she deserves better.

  11. Sarah

This was the first episode I’ve seen where I genuinely understand why the person would want to use. It almost made me angry how insensitive her family were to her, telling her to get over it etc. I think losing a child – especially in such a horrific way – is something you really can never recover from. This was the first episode where I felt like I totally understand why she would want to just escape that grief.

    1. Kitty Katt

For me, it was Dana who lost 3 kids in a house fire.
I’d be getting high every minute too, if I was in her shoes. Being sober certainly wouldn’t be something I would want to be.

  12. Tyke

Pray for her.. her and I been together 8 years. Tried to stick it out. Her relapse was hidden for over year. She is in active addiction and very unstable. I had no choice to leave my best friend and love of my life. Can’t fight a addiction I tried. Sad to say. Her focus is meth and she likes to play victim sad to say her father on way back to prison and her mom invites her to use. “It will help” as shannon says

So sorry to hear. Her story broke my heart. Wishing her health and safety and happiness.

    2. koj

Thank you for this update. Very sorry to hear this. Sad for you and sad for her. God bless and take care of yourself.

  13. Kitty Katt

She has her own YT channel. Here’s one video where she’s talking about her son.

This one is the only one that I’ve cried with them. I felt her pain on so many levels. I pray she’s doing better!

Sadly, Jeana seems to be in bad shape. This latest video she uploaded to her YouTube channel is sad to watch. She looks to be back into her addiction and possibly homeless now. So very sad. I empathize with her sad story and her difficult upbringing makes my heart break for her! Poor Jeana never really had a shot at a happy life. My prayers are with her! Xo

The other link in the above comments didn’t work, so I found this link about Jeanna’s little boys traumatic death. They didn’t mention this on the show, probably because it was too graphic, but according to the news article, her ex-boyfriend sodomized her son. I didn’t know if I wanted to put this here because I don’t want to bring up any more pain if a family member reads this page, but so far no one‘s commented that’s known her, so I thought the other fans that come here and are rooting for Jeanna or looking to see how she’s doing, might find even more understanding for her pain. I am a mother to a teen daughter, and an 18-year-old son, and I’ve been clean off crystal meth for 19 years. I could never ever imagine the kind of pain she must have gone through and is still going through. She was dealt a very, very crappy hand. She lives in a town where there’s a lot of methamphetamine activity. She had a father that was in prison and a mother that was also a meth addict, addiction runs in families. But then she finally found sobriety when she became a mother, but to not only lose her son, but to lose her son in such a traumatic way, she turned back to her addiction to numb her pain. It’s never too late for her to find sobriety! If she is still using, she can probably contact the rehab she went to, even though it’s been years, some of them have been known to take A&E scholarship clients back. And it may have been too many years, but it’s worth a try l. Also, when she gets clean she needs to stay in that city and not move back to Oregon where a relapse is inevitable. There’s just too much meth activity in her town I wish her well. My thoughts and prayers will be with her and God bless her! 🙏🏼❤️

I apologize when I mentioned that I didn’t see any family members commenting on here. I read through almost all of the comments and then posted, and then came back to the site to finish reading the last few comments and very next one was the one from her ex, who is obviously family. I’m sorry for his pain and for his loss!

Tyke, if you are reading this, and someday she is ready for recovery, please try contacting the rehab she went to in Texas, and I highly recommend moving away from her town in Oregon, or wherever she is currently using and living to a town that she does recovery in. If she truly embraces and works the process, she will be successful in her sobriety, and can even work for the sobriety house, which would help her maintain sobriety! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

The links not working for me either if you click on it from this website. Just Google: Prineville man pleads guilty in step son’s death. April 20, 2007.

    2. Ez

This is absolutely horrendous I am so ashamed to be a part of the human race. We should put monster like this man to death without delay, to murder a child to sexually assault him torture him…I cannot imagine the pain. I absolutely would have drank and drugged myself into complete oblivion until I died. Maladaptive behavior like addiction 9/10 comes from trauma. Jeanne is different it’s almost like a slow suicide, which is not uncommon for addicts. your loved ones watch you die for years and they know you are killing yourself. But you can’t stop. And they can’t stop you.

I hope the creature responsible for this is dealt with swiftly and brutally by his fellow inmates.

Tyke, I hope you still check this periodically. My wife and I just finished her episode and then I come searching for updates, which led me here. Horrific and sad AF in numerous ways. I hate seeing she’s in active addiction. I hope she is doing better now in 2023.

  18. MS

Hoping for an update in 2024 on how Jeanna is doing. Praying for a miracle!

  19. Stino

Jeanna, I hope you find your way to better days. I know how difficult addiction is. If you ever see this, it’s possible to recover from hardcore meth addiction.
