Official synopsis: Adam, who began using heroin after his girlfriend broke up with him, panhandles money at gas stations to get enough money to score. His family is “hanging on by a thread” and desperate for intervention help.
Original Air Date: December 2005
Interventionist: Candy
Just watched this episode; take it with a grain of salt, but personally the guy struck me as a total closet case. My theory is he self-destructed when the girlfriend broke up with him, thus ruining his last chance for a “normal” life (albeit one completely filled with lies), grandkids for his parents, etc.
This one also reminds me how much more easily persuaded most of the addicts were to go to treatment in the early episodes. The rageaholic guy from the same ep went with no drama either.

I could’ve sworn I just saw you post on Hubert’s page where you criticized people for bashing his views. I fail to see how this is any different personally.

I am leaving tomorrow for a 1 year rehab program in the mountains of Tuscon, AZ. I will not have a cell phone or computer for the next 12 months. I am gonna get this right once and for all. Happy New Year….
He must have left treatment early because he started posting on FB again this past July. It looks like he is sober and living in Prescott Arizona.
His Facebook is full of conspiracy theories. Are the drugs still affecting his thinking? It looks like it.
According to this, he passed away December ’21. Hmmm. Wonder if his over the top anti vax views had anything to do with his death… https://www.gofundme.com/f/celebration-of-life-book?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&fbclid=IwAR2NraYULYHIG17LGKOjbzCio9-wDfmlN5S2JSmh9I7imWBxXwS9eYOvhBk
I did some research on Adam to figure out how he was doing before his death. Unfortunately, I found many traffic charges as well as a charge for grand theft motor vehicle and a fugitive felony charge in july of 2021. The latest drug charge was in 2016 for drug paraphernalia but I have a hunch that he may never have overcome his battle with addiction. In 2019 he had a petty theft charge and I can’t help but think that the addiction was driving him to make these horrible decisions. From his Facebook, he seemed happy and close with his family and I am sure that if he was using up until the time of his death that he wanted a way out and tried many times. He was certainly a lovely person. I’m not saying drugs is what caused his heart attack either I’m only speculating here. R.I.P Adam. I hope you have found peace and are happy in heaven.
