She always stayed on my mind and I have watched her episode several times. I would love to read an update!
The follow-up was incredible! I had a ridiculous amount of happy tears- my goodness! Such a beautiful girl, and I hope to God she is still doing wonderfully today:)
What touched me most about this episode was how much love and support her family was giving.
Yes – Her family is wonderful, unlike the families of so many addicts.
Sara got clean and got a job with the local sheriffs office as a meth educator. There’s the follow up video here: http://www.aetv.com/intervention/video/follow-up-sara
Wow! I’m so so incredibly glad to hear that she is doing so well! I really hope she stays sober!
What an awesome follow-up feature! This is one of the first truly great episodes of “Intervention”. I believe this was the one that really made me a devoted fan of the show. Sara is a lovely person and it’s near-maddening to be able to see how she’s ruining her life–yet she can’t seem to see it herself. Boy, this episode is a clear-cut example of how addictions can render a person utterly senseless. Sara’s parents are very sympathetically portrayed, too…though my favorite person in this episode is Sara’s beautiful grandmother. When she is shown desperately weeping over her beloved granddaughter, it’s simply heartbreaking. How wonderful for Sara that she had the inner strength to change her life! She is an inspiration and it is wonderful to see how she’s made it through the storm! Go Sara!
There’s an update on her on Apple TV, it’s under the season 14 clips–I think it was called a legacy update? Anyway, she recently hit ten years sober and her smile is so infectious you can’t help but smile while watching the update. So happy for her.
This episode, to me, explains addiction exactly. Wanting to stop but simply not being able to- despite hurting everyone around you. God bless Sara and her beautiful family
Her legacy update is awesome! She looks so happy and healthy. I wonder what happened to her friend Redding, he seemed like just what she needed to give her that final push to go to treatment.
She looks great! Has a family and is a true inspiration. Here is her facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sara.hejny
